Minors Suffer League Final Disappointment

Our Minor team travelled to Pairc Tailteann on Monday night on the  back of a couple tough performances with confidence that if they were to perform to their ability that they could  take home the  league title if they were to overcome the  1 point deficit defeat from the  earlier group game encounter with Na Fianna.  Unfortunately  things did not go to plan and our  lads suffered a very  heavy 2-20 to 1-06 defeat at the  hands of a worthy Enfield side who were  fully deserving of their win and title.

In truth it was  a poor night at the office  with most if not all our lads  losing their individual battles and  being beaten by a stronger and more hungrier  Na Fianna side.  We did  start brightly with a Leo Reilly point from play in the  opening minute  but by the  time Peader Farrell got our second on 24 minutes from a  free  Na Fianna had raised the  white flag on 11 occasions.  Worse was to  come in  closing stages of the  opening half as we also conceded 2 late goals and trailed at the  interval  by 2-11 to 0-02.

The second have really went through the motions as it was over as a contest  but  our lads kept playing  but never closed the  gap as the Na Fianna  side were always in command. Hopefully the lads can learn from this disappointing result and  improve for the  championship later in the year.
