On a sunny evening in Walterstown our u14 Girls played a dinger of a game v Walterstown in the Division 2 semi final.
A furious battle between 2 superb teams , with Donaghmore/Ashbourne taking the early lead was played over 1 hour and 20 mins.
Donaghmore/Ashbourne were in the lead in the final minute but Walterstown levelled with the last kick of the ball to take the game to extra time.
The girls gave everything they had to take the lead which was not relinquished until 19.58!!! Two seconds on the clock and heartbreak for the talented Donaghmore/Ashbourne team, the opposition equalised.
Donaghmore/Ashbourne were unlucky as they were the dominant force for the majority of extra time. However a draw was the result and the Girls can be very pleased with the spirit and never give up fighting attitude of this fabulous panel of talented young footballers.
Now they have to do it all again to battle for a hard earned place in the Division 2 Cup Final.
