A Message from the Tormey Family

A Message from the Tormey Family

To our dear friends and fellow club members in Donaghmore/Ashbourne GAA.

We would like to thank you for your support over the past number of weeks after the untimely passing of our Dad, Christopher. The phenomenal support in which we received from the club was comforting for our family and indeed extended family during this extremely difficult time.

Thank you for visiting our home, making sandwiches, cakes, tea and sending sympathy cards. To the many stewards who helped with parking for days and nights on end, thank you.

A special thanks to our Chairman Frank O’ Donnell and to all of the volunteers who helped in many ways. Thanks to Noel and Olive Finn who worked hard to provide the lovely food in the clubhouse after the funeral and to the ladies, Peter and all the bar staff who helped them throughout the day. Christopher would have been delighted to see so many in the clubhouse and certainly would have enjoyed the stories and memories shared.

Thank you to the teams, past and present, for providing the guard of honour. It was truly humbling. Hopefully Christopher will be watching over your success in the coming years.

Also we would like to take this opportunity to thank Ashbourne Rugby club and Ashbourne United soccer club for the upmost respect shown to Christopher. We are extremely lucky to be involved in such a great community.

To Michael Doherty, Brendan O’ Connor and Rory O’ Connor thank you for your kind words and tributes and for sharing them.

Christopher loved Donaghmore/Ashbourne GAA so much and we know now the respect was very much reciprocated. He would be very proud and honoured to be a member of this club, as we are today. We cannot thank you enough.

From Eithne, Emma & Andrew
