Good Weekend for our Footballers

Well done to our three adult football teams who had a very successful weekend on the  championship front. Our Junior B Footballers were first in action on Saturday evening when they took on Trim in their final group game of the campaign. With the  lads hanging over the relegation trap door they knew that although earlier results did not go their way they still had enough to compete in this grade. Thankfully on Saturday night we were on the right side of a 2-13 to 3-08 score line to record a first championship win of the season  but more importantly retain the Junior B status.

Our Intermediate team were next up with Cortown providing the  opposition as part of a double header in Skryne. Our lads played their best football of the  year  and ran out 0-13 o 0-08 deserving winners. The result still keeps alive a chance of a playoff place with the  final round game against St. Michaels.

On Sunday our seniors travelled to Stamullen to play near neighbours Skryne in the  first game after the Meath team championship fixtures. Over lads played very well with the  aid of the breeze and led at the interval by 0-09 to 0-02. The second half performance was equally as impressive and apart for the concession of a late goal we were comfortable winners in a final scoreline of 0-20 to 1-07. The victory moves the team to pole position in the group with one game to go.
